Dr Maggie Evans

Recognised as an influential communicator, Maggi combines challenging strategic thinking with realistic and practical solutions. She has a reputation as an insightful consultant, helping clients to gain new perspectives and to reduce the ‘noise’ around a challenge so they can focus and act on key issues which will make a difference. She is valued by clients as a highly effective speaker, facilitator, coach, assessment psychologist and leadership development expert. She is also the author of a highly acclaimed book on talent management and is a guest author for Hays Viewpoint. Maggi is passionate about the positive difference that good strategy and leadership can make to a business. She is committed to translating academic insights into pragmatic solutions.

My Background

Prior to her consulting career, Maggi held senior HR and Organisational Development roles within retail and manufacturing. This included roles as Training and Development Manager within The Boots Company and Dalgety as well as Head of Leadership Development for the Sears Group (covering Selfridges, British Shoe Corporation and Freemans). Through these roles, she saw the importance of linking all initiatives to the strategic goals and of working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that solutions met the needs they faced. She gained further commercial acumen through secondments to organisation-wide transformation programmes, managing the implementation of technological and cultural change. She has also worked as an interim HR Director for a technology start-up firm.

Facilitator experience

Since moving into consulting in 1997, Maggi has gained international experience across a variety of sectors including banking, professional services, FMCG, technology and retail.  Clients include The Boots Company, PwC, BGL, Gulf International Bank, Civica, Bombardier Hitachi JV, AIB, Oracle and Associated British Foods.  Maggi’s work has included leading large-scale change projects, strategy development, top team facilitation, leadership development, executive assessment and coaching.  She also facilitates innovation sessions for clients, helping them to unlock complex challenges and find new, potentially disruptive solutions.

My Specialities

Maggi is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with an MSc from London University and a PhD on talent and career from Loughborough University. She has lectured at Cambridge University, Loughborough University and on the Open University MBA, sharing her expertise on talent, innovation, creativity and change.
