Learning Academy, Competency Framework & Career Pathway Design – Case Study

What the issue was

Commercial Bank of Qatar identified a need to develop a core learning framework which aligned to their career pathways and core competencies. The curriculum needed to be developed in partnership with the business to provide staff at all levels of both the Wholesale and Retail divisions with core learning solutions to develop the skills, behaviours and capabilities needed to successfully fulfil their role in the organisation and advance both the Qatari and non-Qatari nationals in their careers with Commercial Bank of Qatar.

How we solved this

MPI were chosen to work with CBQ based on the experience we have working across multiple cultures on scale programmes with both design and delivery capability located globally which adds to our cultural understanding when designing and delivering solutions.

At MPI Gulf our learning philosophy is built upon how individuals internalise and apply what they learnt based on how they acquire the knowledge. We rely on the 70/20/10 formula that describes how learning occurs. Our proposed solution demonstrated our experience in developing learning solutions that do not have a disconnect between training, application and feedback.

The creation of a robust learning framework which incorporated 7 learning tracks including a leading self curriculum. This included recommendations for a variety of blended approaches, details of content and timing and process tools to support robust role accreditation. We also created sample training maps to support in the development of a new LMS system.

Consulted through detailed analysis and alignment of competencies to identify training requirements with ongoing stakeholder consolation.  Creation of a robust blended learning framework that was accessible globally and met cultural requirements.  Supported through a flexible and adaptable design approach, production of robust evaluation strategy to level 4 and the creation of localised train the trainer approach.
